Reaching Out to Diverse Parents in the Classroom

November 9, 2011
Reaching Out to Diverse Parents in the Classroom-

We have seen ways to involve parents in the classroom that help
students succeed. This is no less vital for parents from different
cultural backgrounds or from "nontraditional" families. The challenge
for teachers is what to do when the styles of communication and
cultural beliefs do not respond to traditional methods of involvement,
such as [...]

Time to Throw Away the Teacher Evaluation Checklist

October 27, 2011
teacher evalaution checklist-

Outstanding, good, satisfactory, needs improvement, unsatisfactory. And
that's our evaluation - a teacher evaluation checklist. Helpful, isn't
it? Teacher evaluation is an integral part of improving achievement in
the classroom and yet studies show that most teacher evaluations are
usually "rosy." A national report created by the New Teacher Project
shows that evaluations do not [...]

2 Major Challenges of Merit Pay in Education

October 12, 2011
Rewarding Teacher Performance with Merit Pay-

Mention merit pay in education or "pay for performance" and you will
spark a lively, or contentious, debate among teachers. The idea that
teachers should be compensated for their students' achievement levels
is nothing new, but some schools are experimenting with pay for
performance, and President Obama said that teachers should be paid much
more [...]

The Expanding Role of Digital Literacy in the Traditional Classroom

September 21, 2011
The Role of Digital Literacy in the Traditional Classroom-

What is traditional literacy? Even just ten to twenty years ago, that
would have been an odd question. Traditional literacy meant the ability
to read and write. But now, we have digital literacy - the ability to
navigate online and use new technology and programs with ease. The
difficulty is that overburdened teachers have the [...]

How Professional Learning Communities in Education Lower Teacher Attrition
Rates

September 12, 2011
-

How does the worst performing school in the district - one with high
poverty rates, high student transfer rates, and the largest number of
ESL learners - transform itself into a school which exceeds district,
state, and national averages? How did Westside Elementary School in
Springville, Utah improve across the board, even pulling significant
increases [...]

Keeping Students Motivated in School

September 2, 2011
Keeping Students Motivated in School-

Keeping students motivated in school is an ongoing issue in education.
Two-thirds of high school students say they're bored in class every
day. We all have days when we zone out or would rather be anywhere else
(yes, even the teachers), but every single day more than half of
students are bored? Because the material [...]

Online Reading Comprehension for Kids

August 19, 2011
Online Reading Comprehension for Kids-

Online reading comprehension for kids is not the same as reading on
paper. That may seem self-evident, but the skills involved are entirely
different, as are the intentions with which internet users read. Online
reading is non-linear, based more on skimming than deep reading. Jakob
Nielsen, a usability expert and consultant, calls this "information
foraging." [...]

Authentic Assessment in Education

July 13, 2011
Authentic Assessment in Education-

What is the role of authentic assessment in education? When students
feel like they are doing meaningful work, they are more likely to
remain engaged in learning. This applies from the youngest students to
those in high school, but is especially important during middle and
high school when many students - but not all -- [...]

The zorgium specific results appear in the right hand margin.

Find other ZORGIUM pages using your favorite search engine:

Enter your search keyword(s) and the keyword "zorgium" into the search input field of http://bing.com, http://yahoo.com or http://google.com.

Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.

ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.

DISCLAIMER: Zorgium is a free world-wide-web engine from AZ.COM. You may use it, but by doing so you agree that your use of other people's information discovered via our website is entirely your responsibility. Enjoy!
